Bring STEM one step closer for our girls in South Western Sydney

Inspired by the work of those who are striving to create amazing learning experiences for our youth including One Giant Leap (http://onegiantleapaustralia.com/), the iSTEM ME Program (http://www.meprogram.com.au/istem/) and so many more, our dreams of creating an immersive learning space for our local community and to engage our girls in STEM is one step closer thanks to Astronomers Without Borders (https://astronomerswithoutborders.org/), their BIG program and their network of generous supporters who have set-up a campaign to raise funds to help complete this project to life.

With the generous support of our major donator Star Stuff 2017 (Byron Bay’s festival of the cosmos –
https://starstuff.com.au/) as well as our other wonderful donors, we have been able to secure funding for the main component of our planetarium structure and costs towards the required materials to complete it.

Now we are striving to supplement this generous grant to raise the remaining funds required to complete the material covering and pay for delivery of the planetarium components with added stretch goals.

Your support will enable us to build our astronomical community and bring our students closer to the stars than ever before by providing a facility where the students from our school, other local primary and high schools and members of the community can explore astronomy and the study of the universe independently of weather or access to equipment in the heart of Sydney’s western suburbs.

What a great idea and worthy of everyone’s support. Go for it and we hope that we can all help make a contribution to assist this project start up.
