Thoughts from CMDR Hadfield

The following thought is inspired by and adapted from a talk given by Astronaut CMDR Hadfield when asked for advice on how Australian students can achieve their dreams

– The only person who can get you to where you want to go is yourself. IF you don’t know what you want to do with your life (and its hard to know when you’re a kid) then find out what interests you. Find out what you like doing and this will show you what kind of person you are and want to be. Then each day make a choice that will take you in that direction. One step closer each day. Learn something new about your interest that you didn’t know yesterday. Over time these small steps and choices will add up into massive life changes. Only you can take the steps to make it happen. Don’t be afraid to try something new. Separate the fear from the perceived and real risk and then mitigate the real risk to remove the fear. Your future is in your hands, no-one else’s. –
